nearly ten days into the month of may and we still have no information on the new call of duty. almost every year, we have some kind of leak surface about the next title. however, things have been mute up to this point. at least, they were until a gamestop employee took a very interesting picture.
if you don’t know, retailers like gamestop get early access to all kinds of gaming information. this is so they can have their store ready for pre-orders and merchandise sales. while this is innocent enough, a majority of call of duty leaks come from this practice.
not all employees can hold their silence, and once a snippet of information is out there, it spreads like wildfire. the same thing has happened yet again, as we have our first real leak concerning the next call of duty.
reveal date set for call of duty
while the name of the next cod hasn’t been made official, everyone assumes it’s modern warfare 4. all of the hints from various outlets up until now have pointed to this.
well, even though there’s no name, it seems as though activision has set a date for the announcement of the next game. in a picture posted on reddit from a gamestop employee, we have legitimate news about the reveal for mw4.
at the top of the image, it clearly says “cod reveal”. these images are pertaining to the ordered gamestop shirts for the reveal. however, beneath the shirt sizes is a date: june 4, 2019.
this is almost certainly when the reveal will be held. it could happen a day or two in advance, but it won’t happen beyond june 4.
while we have this information, there are still questions. the biggest esport betting sites in denmark among these is what will this reveal entail? will we just receive an announcement of the title’s name or a full-on, campaign trailer?
guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
robert bowling drops subtle hints
if you were around for the original modern warfare trilogy days, chances are you know robert bowling. he was the community manager at infinity ward for all three original games but now works at ea as a creative consultant.
over the past couple of weeks, he has been hinting at the possibility of modern warfare 4. however, in a barrage of tweets yesterday, he upped the ante.

robert bowling could have some inside knowledge, or perhaps he’s simply guessing. either way, the fact that he so strongly believes the next title will be mw4 is a good sign for fans. a majority of the community is hoping that the next title will indeed turn out to be modern warfare 4.
although, in the last tweet shown above, he gives an interesting date. “10.8.19” is a legitimate release date for the next call of duty. black ops 4 released on october 12, 2018, so does bowling know something we don’t?
only time will tell if bowling is just leading everyone on, but the hype is real. players can expect a reveal within the coming weeks, and then all of our questions will hopefully be answered.
